I guess I just like liking things

There are two albums being released tomorrow that I plan on getting, one because I have to (it’s right in the name!) but both because I know I’ll like them.

You literally have to buy this album

You literally have to buy this album

First up is Weird Al’s new album, “Mandatory Fun.” I have purposefully been avoiding any information on this one other than official releases from Al himself. I’m aware that the album has been online for a bit already, and one of my friends who downloaded it mentioned there’s an Imagine Dragons parody and another friend talked about there being a “Blurred Lines” parody called “Word Crimes.” These are literally the only two specific things I know about the album other than the names of the tracks.  I’m looking forward to listening to it on repeat for the next week so I can do an album ranking for it next Monday.

Here’s the tracklist for the album. Make of it what you will:

1. Handy
2. Lame Claim to Fame
3. Foil
4. Sports Song
5. Word Crimes
6. My Own Eyes
7. NOW That’s What I Call Polka!
8. Mission Statement
9. Inactive
10. First World Problems
11. Tacky

The other album hitting tomorrow is the soundtrack for Wish I Was Here. I really liked the song selections during the movie, so I knew I’d be buying the album. Zach Braff tends to pick songs for soundtracks that I didn’t know I would like, and Garden State soundtrack is maybe my favorite soundtrack of all time. Even the soundtrack for The Last Kiss, a movie I didn’t really like all that much, had a soundtrack I loved. Your mileage will vary, I’m sure, but I’m betting I like this one, too, even if I won’t actually listen to it for at least a week.

Here’s the track listing for it:

1. So Now What (The Shins)
2. Broke Window (Gary Jules)
3. The Mute (Radical Face)
4. Cherry Wine (Live) (Hozier)
5. Holocene (Bon Iver)
6. The Shining (Badly Drawn Boy)
7. Mexico (Jump Little Children)
8. Wish I Was Here (Cat Power + Coldplay)
9. Wait It Out (Allie Moss)
10. The Obvious Child (Paul Simon)
11. Breathe In (feat. Wafia) (Japanese Wallpaper)
12. Heavenly Father (Bon Iver)
13. Raven’s Song (Aaron Embry)
14. Mend (The Weepies)
15. No One To Let You Down (The Head and the Heart)
